Winners of inaugural Biological Sciences PGR Publication Prizes announced
Congratulations to the winners of the inaugural School of Biological Sciences PGR Publication Prizes.
The prizes were awarded across two categories – Best Research Article and Best Open Research Publication – and are aimed at celebrating the success of the School’s PhD students and the sharing of best practice in delivering open research.
The winners are:
Best Research Article
Anna Stanworth for her publication: “Using multilayer socioecological networks to assess ecosystem service flow in a subsistence farming community in Papua New Guinea”
Best Open Research Publication
Jiaoqi Cheng for her publication “CenSegNet: a generalist high-throughput deep learning framework for centrosome phenotyping at spatial and single-cell resolution in heterogeneous tissues”
Each winner will receive a £100 pound voucher, which will be presented in a special session ahead of the School’s Christmas celebration on 17 December. The students will also give a short talk covering their findings.
Professor Diego Gomez-Nicola, Deputy Head of School for Research, said: “Congratulations to our winners and their supervisory teams, collaborators and co-authors!
“The jury was impressed by the quality of the papers and by how the primary research led to clear evidence of impact and sharing of data with the community. Thanks to the jury for giving their time to review the entries.”
