Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences

FELS Focus – October 2026

In this edition:

Welcome to FELS Focus

We are delighted to introduce the first edition of FELS Focus.

This is the new-look newsletter for the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences (FELS), bringing together your stories, news and achievements in a dedicated Faculty publication.

Share your stories more widely

Every story will now have its own web page and shareable link, making it easier to celebrate achievements and share good news beyond the University.

You can:

  • Share story links with external partners and collaborators
  • Include links in email signatures, newsletters and stakeholder updates
  • Promote stories through LinkedIn and other professional networks
  • Share achievements with prospective students, alumni, industry contacts and community groups
  • Direct people to stories long after publication, as content will remain available online

All faculties will be hosting their newsletters on this new platform, creating new opportunities to share our stories with a wider audience across the University.

How can I submit a story?

If you have a story you’d like to share, or any questions or feedback about the newsletter, please contact fels-news@soton.ac.uk.

Thank you for helping us showcase the people, research and achievements that make FELS such a vibrant Faculty.
